February on Kentucky lake is peeks of spring and doses of reality. Last week we were catching lots of 2LB Crappie and some nice bass as shallow as 3ft along rocky shorelines. The air temps were in the low 60's and upper 50's. This week it's back to the ledges with the air temps in the 30's and 40's. We're still getting good action, just having to fish a little deeper and more off-shore. Spring is just around the corner!

CRAPPIE
Notes on Action: The action has been good with exceptionally large fish being caught.
What to Use: 1/16 oz and 3/32 oz jigs with white or chartreuse 2" tubes has worked best for us lately .
Where to Fish: 6' to 25' deep around wood cover. Fish shallower during warm spells and deeper and more off-shore during cold spells.

BASS
Notes on Action: Still good action but the fish seem to be a little more scattered.
What to Use: Rattle traps, small crankbaits, jerk baits, jigs and the 5-swim bait rig will catch 'em.
Where to Fish: Humps at the mouths of bays seem to be most dependable, but rocky main lake and secondary points are also producing.

BLUEGILL
Notes on Action: Great action can be found fishing big schools of fish.
What to Use: Wax worms fished on a 2 hook bottom bouncer rig will bring them aboard.
Where to Fish: 10' to 25' deep around wood cover.

WHITE BASS, YELLOW BASS & STRIPERS
Notes on Action: Good action can be found but not as good as summer.
What to Use: White curly tailed swim baits and spoons are productive.
Where to Fish: 15' to 25' deep on mainlake humps, points and ledges.

CATFISH
Notes on Action: Cats can be caught this time of year but expect slower action.
What to Use: Cut shad, whole shad, large minnows, night crawlers, and shrimp will work.
Where to Fish: 25' to 50' deep at the mouths of bays and on the main lake.
